Raimonds Lazdins
Track and field - discus, born in Canada in 1964. In 1983 at the Canadian junior championships at University of Toronto sports club, he won the discus event with a toss of 48,2m and this placed him 6th in Canada. That summer he won the all Ontario High school discus event. In 1986 he was Canadian discus champ with a toss of 61,02m. At the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, he won gold with a toss of 58,86m. He attended the 1987 track and field championship in Greece where he placed 2nd with a toss of 58,86m. He was on the Canadian Olympic team for the 1988 Seoul games. He tossed only 57,94m and didn't make the finals which had a cut off of 64m. His personal best is 63,38m..
