Valda Oestreicher
Born in England, Valda received her Honours BA in Art and Art History from McMaster University, and then studied at the Ontario College of Art and the Dundas Valley School of Art. She is known for her dynamic still life, portrait, and landscape compositions. Valda has exhibited sculpture, woodcut and linoleum prints, pastel drawings, watercolour and oil paintings in numerous exhibitions. She is represented in Toronto by Roberts Gallery (www.robertsgallery.net). Valda was president of Latvis from 2002 to 2010, and is the current Canadian representative of the Global Society for Latvian Art.
