Visvaldis Reinholds
Born in 1924 in Latvia, he came to Toronto, Canada, in 1951. He studied at the Ontario College of Art (1953-57) under Carl Schaefer, Jock MacDonald and Alex Millar and during that time received an I.O.D.E. Scholarship. At graduation he was awarded the Governor General's Medal.
In 1960 he painted at Devil's Glen near Collingwood, Ontario and later exhibited his semi-abstract paintings at the International Institute, Toronto. He fashioned a metal decorative sculpture which was presented by Latvians to Hamilton Place, cultural centre in September of 1974.
