Dace Zvanitajs
Dace (Broders) Zvanitajs, born in Riga 4/2/43, came to Toronto in 1951 and played High School and Sr. Women's Basketball. Graduate of U of Western Ontario, she taught and coached, 1967-99, at Glendale HS in Tillsonburg ON. Her basketball teams won 11 league & 8 Conference titles record 533-65 (89%). Her first team was 88-1 & beat UWO 53-21.
She also coached badminton, tennis and field events. Her athletes won medals at Ontario level. Received Referee' Lifetime Basketball Achievement Award, Tillsonburg Sports Wall of Fame & National Recognition for developing a Phys Ed program for physically & mentally challenged students.
Retired with husband Valdemars (Woody) in Tillsonburg daughter & son & 4 grandboys
